Medicare Advantage Plan 2020
Are you looking for medical coverage that goes beyond the basic Medicare plan? Then you might want to consider a Medicare Advantage plan for 2020. This high coverage healthcare policy can take care of you for a full year with coverage that extends beyond what the base Medicare plan provides for you.
What’s great about Advantage plans is that they come in a few different varieties and come with different options for coverage. They also do not have set rates, which means there is some real opportunity to save money on them. You simply have to compare the different Advantage plans from the various providers that sell them. We will show you how to do that using our website and explain a bit about Advantage plans to you in the process.
Compare to Save
Medicare Advantage plans came in a few shapes and sizes. They all have the same base coverage, which is just all of Medicare (parts A and B) as well as emergency and urgently needed healthcare coverage.
There are also Part D versions that include all of that plus Medicare Part D’s prescription drug coverage.
Then there are those that will cover you for the base items, as well as for checkups for hearing, vision and general wellness.
You also have options that combine some of these and include all the coverage we just talked about. You’ll have to decide what kind of coverage you want and what you can afford. Advantage plans are usually priced competitively, but if you use our site to source quotes and compare them, then you will have your best chance of saving money.
Our site makes it really easy to source the quotes that you need, allowing you to search not only by plan type but also by your area. This means you get local quotes that apply to you. That’s important, since the rates for individual Advantage plans will change from one location to another. You want to use a service like ours that is not just free but also sources quotes fresh each time you use it.
We do more than just source quotes and list them for you. We can also talk to you one on one and advise you as to which plan to pick and show you what your coverage options are. You have more than just Advantage plans to pick from, so make sure you look at all that is available to you and don’t pass up an opportunity to save money on your healthcare.
Advantage Plans Have Coverage Restrictions
One of the unique aspects of Advantage plans when compared to other types of Medicare plans is that their coverage area is limited. Most Medicare plans will work practically anywhere, but Advantage plans are limited by the coverage area of their provider. This is known as the network, and some providers have a larger network than others.
The network determines where a Medicare Advantage plan in 2020 will provide coverage. That means that there are some places in the United States where you can go for healthcare and not receive coverage that your plan promises you. That may seem wild to think of, but it is absolutely true, and that is why it is so important to consider network coverage offered by providers before you sign up for any of the Advantage plans.
It does you no good to pay for a plan that will not cover you where you live. The larger providers will often have a larger network, but they may also have higher prices, so that is a tradeoff you have to consider. You do have some options when it comes to network coverage and Advantage plans, though.
If you start looking at Medicare Advantage plans, you will see that all of them are listed with some letters by their name. The most common sets of letters are HMO and PPO. These tell you what kind of coverage option is provided for you.
HMOs will cover you only on the network, so if you go outside of your provider’s network with an HMO Advantage plan, then you will not be covered at all. You get full coverage on the network, though. As you can imagine, this is a cost-effective plan for people who live in high network areas, and this is definitely the cheaper plan on a per-month basis.
PPOs are the names given to plans that will cover you anywhere you go. You can go outside the network or stay inside the network with a PPO Advantage plan and get at least some coverage. It is only going to be full coverage while you are within the network, but you still get partial coverage outside the network with this kind of option. That’s useful for people who live in more rural areas where perhaps network coverage is harder to find. As you might realize, this kind of plan will cost more than the HMO, but it can save money in the long run, depending on one’s situation.
